But to keep that burn clean and beautiful? You need a little candle care. Here’s how to get the most out of your BR candle:
🔥 1. Trim Your Wick — Always.
Before every single burn, trim your wood wick to about 1/8 inch. This helps it stay lit and gives you a strong, even flame without flickering or smoke.
✂️ Don’t skip this step — it’s the difference between a moody flicker and a dreamy, steady glow.
🕯️ 2. Let It Burn Right the First Time.
The first burn is the most important! Let your candle melt all the way to the edge of the jar (usually takes 2–3 hours). This prevents tunneling and sets the “memory ring” for the future.

🧼 3. Keep It Clean.
After burning, gently snap off any black, charred wood from the wick before relighting. And if anything falls into the wax (like burnt pieces or dust), scoop it out with love.

Keep your candle away from open windows, fans, or vents. Wood wicks burn best in calm air. Let her do her thing without interruption — just like you when you're deep in your zone.
♻️ 5. Don’t Burn Her to the Bottom.
When there’s only about 1/2 inch of wax left, it’s time to let go. Burning too low can cause the jar to overheat or crack. Instead, clean it out and give it a second life — we love using ours for makeup brushes, pens, or plant cuttings.
